Who wears the SPIRITUAL pants?

Once you say “I do!” now what?

Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

When you make a Marriage Covenant before God things just got serious. Not serious in a bad way, but the Man has a HUGE responsibility. Not only does he have the role we all can see as the provider, but now he has taken Headship over the relationship. They become one.

Ephesians 5:25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it! That seems simple and easy, right? Why do men not understand this? If you are married, you are now ONE. There is no separation. Love them, honor them, teach them the biblical truth and allow the Glory of God to shine in your relationship. Don’t put them down. Be willing to put yourself away and see the needs your wife has and work through them.

Ephesians 5:26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Husbands are you cleansing your marriage with the Word of God? Are you seeing the problems, taking your family to God, praying over them and searching the Word for the answers? Don’t try to fix things that are wrong alone because more than likely the flesh will step in and blow things out of proportion. Ask God to show you the issues. Seek in His Word how to fix those issues. Continue to speak the Word over your family and yourself.

Ephesians 5:27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

When you marry, you and your spouse become one flesh. If one of you hurts, the other is there to lift you up and speak the Word over the circumstance.

Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Colossians 3:18Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

1 Peter 3:Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Be encouraged to make small changes in your marriage. Don’t throw in the towel. God can change anything or anybody. Keep standing firm in His Word and watch His power manifest.  If you throw in the towel, satan laughs because that is what he wants. (Steal, kill, and destroy) Don’t allow that to happen.
