Train up a child in the way they should go.

Train up a childThat is a big statement! Are you training your child or are you letting them train themselves?

Have you ever heard the statement, “Don’t let generational curses control you forever.”? Well, if you haven’t, you should know that there are generational curses that go along with a family name. Whether it be hereditary health problems or doing things just because Grandma did them.

If they go against The Word of God, then you have a position in Christ to stop them.

The recent events in this country is a horrible event that satan had full control over. He was in full control over the killer.. It’s sad that innocent children were caught in the midst.

My question is as Christians, how do you prepare your child to be out in the world?

John 17:13And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Truth is in His Word. He plainly said that we are IN this world but not OF this world.

In verse 17, sanctify means [37 (hagiázō) means “to make holy, consecrate, sanctify; to dedicate, separate” (Abbott-Smith).]

The only way to be sanctified is to know your position in Christ. Your position is Son ship. You are Gods Son. Every promise and provision he gave in His Word has been freely given to us. Once you get full revelation of this, is when you can grab the realization that YOU ARE sanctified, made holy, separate, consecrated, dedicated IN Christ.

So, my question again, How do we prepare our children to be in this evil world?

Teach them what they have power over. Teach them what God, through Jesus Christ, gave them. Teach them the Word..not your opinion or some books agenda.

I sat my 6 year old down and asked him this question.

“What would you do if someone with a gun came into your school and was shooting?” His immediate response was to step in the flesh and say, “I would get my nun-chucks and get him.” Then I explained to him, “He has a gun and he is shooting far away and you can not get near him or you will be hurt. What would you do?” Yet again, he spoke of getting those sharp metal things to throw at him. It is a “typical” boy response, right?

So, how can I as a Christian parent begin to break those curses that have been over looked? Immediately, I went into asking him about Jesus Christ. He knows that Jesus had Christ (The anointed One) inside him and so do we! So, how do we manifest the peace and joy that has been given to us?

I began to explain to him if something like this ever happened, he is to get in a safe place and pray. Pray to our Father in Heaven, speaking the Word back to him.

Father, I am your Son and Your Word says Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Father, I speak that freedom right now in the name of Jesus. Father, you say I have power over the demons that are in this world. Right now, I bind the evil spirits that are around me. I bind the fear, the deceit, the rebellion and I loose Christ the anointed one to take control. I loose the angels that have been appointed unto me to guard me from evil and minister unto me. I loose the peace, joy, happiness in the Holy Ghost right now in the name of Jesus. Anything evil is not from you Father. They are from satan and satan must get under my feet right now. I am the head and not the tail. I have the power because I have Christ within and greater is He that is inside me than he that is in this world. Thank you Father. In Jesus Name.

Even though he is 6 years old, he understands. Never assume that your child is to young to understand the Kingdom of God. Isn’t this our job as Christian parents? This is something that they will not learn in Sunday school at church. They should but they don’t. Sure, it is great to learn about Jonah and the whale and father Abraham but what about being co-heirs with Christ, Christ descended to the lower parts of the earth to take the keys to death, hell, and the grave and the Tabernacle being a type of Jesus Christ. Those things actually teach us how to be more like Jesus Christ. He is our example and how can we be like him if we don’t know who abides inside us.

Did you know when the world is falling apart around you there is a secret place you can go to and have the peace of God?

Psalm 91:1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The question now is Have you received it? Do you believe it? Do you “know that you know” that you are taken care of..even in the worst of situations? If you have doubt, so will your children.

Proverbs 22:6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition (Counsel) of the Lord.
